Memory Support at The Chesapeake in Newport News, VA

Caring, individualized support for people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia

Memory Support at The Williamsburg Center is specifically designed for our active residents who have Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Our well-designed, homelike environment accommodates up to 15 residents with moderate memory impairment and provides all the comforts of home.

Within our secure environment, individuals are able to move about freely and safely, both indoors and in our secure garden environment, without a sense of confinement. Residents can also participate in activities specifically created to enhance their lifestyles and provide opportunities for continued growth and enjoyment. These specialized programs help ensure dignity, structure and independence. Family members are also encouraged to participate in activities, meals and events with their loved ones.

Our licensed staff are specially trained in caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Programs and activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of each resident. Staff understand that memory loss due to dementia is progressive, and that programs must be continually evaluated to ensure that they change with the resident’s needs. In addition, our exceptionally high ratio of staff to residents assures that residents receive the personal attention they need and deserve.
