02-Jan-14 09:51

Please join us at The Chesapeake on Friday, January 24th at 7pm for "Capital of the Confederacy" presented by Historical Interpreter, Vanessa Cole. Richmond, Virginia was teh capital of the Confederate States of America during the tumultuous yeras fo the Civil War. It was a time of the population doubling, sick and wounded soldiers arriving, prices rising, food vanishing, and general survival. But it was also a time when friends and family pulled together doing the best they could and made memories which included "Starvation Parties". You experience Richmond life as it was in the Capital of the Confederacy!
