December 15: COVID-19 Update
The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 12/16/20
On December 11, The Chesapeake management team relayed that two clinical team members who work predominately in assisted living tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, all team members and residents were tested. Six additional residents tested positive for the virus during that testing.
Family members of these residents were contacted Friday. Contact tracing has been completed. Anyone who was identified as having close contact with any of the positive residents or team members has been notified directly.
The Virginia Department of Health has been notified of these positive tests and The Chesapeake team continues to follow all recommended guidelines for infection prevention and spread. All team members in the assisted living neighborhood were tested for COVID-19 and all the results were negative.
Visitation and activities for the assisted living and memory support neighborhoods are suspended until December 26 provided there are no additional positive cases. All independent living common areas, dining, activities, community center, fitness center and pool are closed at this time as well.
The Chesapeake’s leadership team urges residents to continue wearing masks, keeping a social distance of at least six feet and practicing hand hygiene.
