January 4: COVID-19 Update
The Chesapeake COVID-19 Updates 1/4/21
The Chesapeake’s leadership team learned on January 3 that three assisted living residents and three team members tested positive for COVID-19. These positive results were identified while performing state-mandated baseline testing of residents and team members due to recent positive cases of COVID-19.
Family members of these residents have been contacted. Contact tracing has been completed. Anyone who was identified as having close contact with any of the positive residents or team members has been notified directly. The positive team members have been removed from the schedule and are self-quarantining at home until the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) return-to-work criteria are met.
VDH has been notified of these positive tests and The Chesapeake team continues to follow all recommended guidelines for infection prevention and spread. Visitation, communal dining and communal activities for healthcare, assisted living and memory support are suspended until further notice.
The Chesapeake’s leadership team urges residents to continue wearing masks, keeping a social distance of at least six feet and practicing hand hygiene.
