October 12, 2020: COVID-19 Update

The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 10/12/20

The Chesapeake’s management team has learned that a transportation and home care team member tested positive for COVID-19. This team member is asymptomatic, has been removed from the schedule and is self-quarantining at home.

This team member is the one identified through contact tracing who had been in close contact with the home care team member who tested positive October 9. That team member is also  self-quarantining at home. The newly identified positive team member has not worked or visited the community since October 4, and it is not believed that any residents or additional team members have been exposed.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has been notified of this positive test and The Chesapeake’s team continues to follow all recommended guidelines for infection prevention and spread. Upon idenficiation of this case of COVID-19,  all team members will be tested in accordance with the area’s positivity rate per a recent regulation for routine testing from the Department of Health & Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Chesapeake’s team continues to work meticulously to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the community.

The Chesapeake’s team strongly encourages all residents and team members to continue wearing masks and using proper hand hygiene. Everyone will continue to be screened before entry into the community. All team members are required to wear facial coverings.
