The Chesapeake Hosts Annual Fitness Festival

The Chesapeake’s team celebrated National Senior Health and Fitness Day with a Fitness Festival on May 26. Residents beat the heat with a variety of activities and health screenings to mark the occasion.

Residents had a chance to make their own trail mix with a do-it-yourself buffet with granola, dried fruit, nuts and, of course, chocolate. The culinary services team also served up “be well” chocolate performance muffins.

The wellness team offered therapy balance and upper body screenings while the clinic team did blood pressure testing. Attendees also had a chance to play a foreign language matching game with members of the community’s German Club and paint coaster tiles. Representatives from the Recycling Committee also presented on contamination and ways residents can help keep the community clean.

An area was set up for residents to practice their driving skills with a remote control car course while others chose to get temporary tattoos.
