The Chesapeake Offers Multiple Options for Thanksgiving Celebrations

Like everything else in 2020, Thanksgiving will be unlike any other the world has experienced. As the extended Chesapeake community rolls into this exciting time of year, the leadership team is planning ahead to make Thanksgiving as fun and memorable as possible. A variety of events, outlined below, are designed with the safety of Chesapeake residents, loved ones and team members at the forefront.

Annual Pie Social

On November 24, the annual Pie Social will be held. This will be hosted in the Chesapeake Room. Up to 50 people may attend. Others will be provided carry-out servings. In addition, individually packaged slices of pie will be distributed to residents in assisted living, memory support and healthcare. 

Thanksgiving

Café

Open from 7– 10 a.m. for breakfast, on-the-go and heat-at-home items. A complete turkey dinner will be $12.95. No afternoon pick-up service will be available for the holiday.

Dining Room

The holiday buffet will be served from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. A take-out service buffet will be available from 10:45 – 11:15 a.m. for those who do not wish to dine in a group setting.

There will be additional seating if deemed necessary due to social distancing guidelines. Team members will serve a buffet in the resident dining room for residents only. The Chesapeake Room will be available for serving residents and their guests (table of five maximum). Reservations are required. Please call x1634 or the concierge to make a reservation. This must be done no later than Friday, November 20.

Captain’s Cove

Available for parties of up to 10 people from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 1 – 3 p.m. Reservations required.

Windjammer’s Lounge

Mimosas and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 10:45 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Family Private Holiday Meals

Residents will have the opportunity to reserve Captain’s Cove or a private sectioned off quarter of The Chesapeake Room throughout the holiday season for entertaining family.

Capacity of any space is 10 individuals to assure proper spacing. Pre-screening, social distancing and masks are required. 

Reservations can be made by calling Ext.  1622 or 1607. A holiday menu with three special selections crafted by Executive Chef Malcolm Skinner, priced between $15-20 per complete meal, is available. Each member of the party will make their selection when seated and parties can enjoy up to two hours of relaxed family time. Dining Dollars may be used. A $25 charge to a resident’s business account will be charged to provide a dedicated server and to support clean-up and sanitation practices before and after the family’s arrival. A resident’s family member may pay for meals and service charges by personal credit card or check.
