January 5: COVID-19 Update

The Chesapeake’s leadership team became aware of an assisted living and a memory support team member who tested positive for COVID-19. The team members are currently quarantined at home. Contact tracing has been conducted. No other residents or team members are exhibiting signs or symptoms of respiratory illness.

Visitation to all licensed areas including assisted living, memory support and healthcare has not changed from the current visitation policy.

Licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified with no new recommendations at this time. The Chesapeake’s team will continue with testing per the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines and will provide updates on any further positive results and/or protocol changes.

The Chesapeake’s team urges all residents, their guests and all team members to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing and proper hand hygiene.
