November 19: COVID-19 Update

The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 11/19/20

On November 18, the Chesapeake’s leadership team discovered that a member of the leadership team, who works predominately in assisted living and memory support, tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing revealed that the team member was exposed to the virus outside of the community on November 12. Upon learning of the exposure, the team member was removed from the schedule and is self-quarantining at home.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has been notified of the positive test and The Chesapeake’s team continues to follow all recommended guidelines for infection prevention and spread. All team members and residents in the assisted living and memory support areas were tested on November 12 and all those results were negative.

State-mandated testing continues for all healthcare team members in accordance with the area’s positivity rate, per the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Testing was administered November 17, and the leadership team will report results as they are returned. The team member who tested positive November 17 is still quarantining at home.
