November 29: COVID-19 Update
The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 11/29/20
On November 28, the Chesapeake’s management team discovered that a team member who works in the healthcare center tested positive for COVID-19 during routine testing. This team member was removed from the schedule and is self-quarantining at home for the next 14 days.
Contact tracing is underway. The most recent testing, conducted November 24, revealed that no residents or other team members have tested positive. The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has been notified of the positive test and The Chesapeake team continues to follow all recommended guidelines for infection prevention and spread.
All healthcare team members continue to be tested in accordance with the area’s positivity rate, per the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The next test date will be December 1. The management team will report results if any additional positive cases are identified.
While this test result has no bearing on visitation, the healthcare center will be on quarantine until December 4, provided there are no new positive cases for residents.
The Chesapeake’s leadership team urges residents to continue wearing masks, keeping a social distance of at least six feet and practicing hand hygiene. Please reach out with questions or concerns.
