The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 11/5/20

The Chesapeake’s management team has learned that a team member who works in the assisted living area tested positive for COVID-19. This team member has been removed from the schedule and is self-quarantining at home.

The team member has not worked or visited the community since October 31. Contact tracing is currently underway to identify those who may have had close contact with the positive team member.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has been notified of this positive test. The Chesapeake’s team will test all assisted living and memory support team members and residents today, November 5, and again next Thursday, November 12, as mandated by VDH. Visitation, communal dining and activities in these areas are temporarily suspended.

Per VDH guidance, if there are no positive cases during the next two weeks, assisted living and memory support residents will be able to able to resume communal dining, activities and movement between floors in the assisted living area.

The Chesapeake’s team urges all residents and team members to continue wearing masks and using proper hand hygiene. Everyone will continue to be screened before entry into the community. All team members are required to wear facial coverings.
