September 28: COVID-19 Update
The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 9/28/21
The Chesapeake’s leadership team learned on September 28 that a team member from The Chesapeake’s Assisted Living neighborhood has had family members test positive for COVID-19. The team member is symptomatic and will be quarantining at home for the next 14 days due to the high-risk exposure. Team members that are currently unvaccinated were tested today and all were negative. All unvaccinated team members will be tested again on October 1, 2021.
All team members will continue to follow guidelines from the Virginia Department of Health and CMS, including safety procedures and the use of proper protective equipment, to prevent the spread of the virus.
Visitation will continue for all levels of care to include independent living, assisted living, memory care and healthcare. The Chesapeake’s team urges all residents and team members to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene as we continue to fight the spread of COVID-19.
