December 17: COVID-19 Update
The Chesapeake’s leadership team has become aware of a team member in memory support who has tested positive for COVID-19. The team member is currently quarantined at home. Contact tracing has been conducted and all residents who were found to have been in close contact with the team member have been tested. All of those residents tested negative.
Visitation to all licensed areas including assisted living, memory support and healthcare has not changed from the current visitation policy.
Licensing agencies and the Virginia Department of Health have been notified with no new recommendations at this time. The Chesapeake’s team will continue with testing per Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines and will provide updates on any further positive results and/or protocol changes.
The Chesapeake’s team urges all residents, their guests and all team members to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing and proper hand hygiene.
