September 13: COVID-19 Update

The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 9/13/21

The Chesapeake’s management team became aware of an agency nursing assistant who previously worked in Health Care that has tested positive for COVID-19.  The agency CNA experienced symptoms prior to the start of her shift last evening (September 12, 2021) and informed the supervisor who tested her and immediately sent her home to quarantine.  The agency nursing assistant last tested negative on Friday, September 10, 2021.  All team members will be tested again tomorrow, September 14, 2021 in addition to the residents in Health Care.

All residents in health care continue to be on isolation and are under close observation.  Communal dining and communal activities are still suspended for health care.  All team members working in Health Care continue to wear their N95 masks and other appropriate PPE and continue to use proper hand washing and sanitization techniques.

Visitation in the Health Care center continues to be suspended. Compassionate care visits will continue as deemed appropriate by leadership team members. Visitation will continue for assisted living.

Licensing agencies and the V.D.H. have been notified with no new recommendations at this time.  We will continue with testing per Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines. The next planned Health Care team member and resident testing will be held on September 14, 2021, we will keep you updated on any further positive results and/or protocol changes.

The Chesapeake’s team urges all residents and team members as well as guests to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene.  Please check the COVID-19 Communications Hub  for up-to-date communications. Questions or concerns may be submitted via email to Barbara Jackson-Ingram at [email protected].
