September 7: COVID-19 Update

The Chesapeake COVID-19 Update 9/7/21

The Chesapeake’s leadership team learned on September 7 that three more team members in the Memory Care neighborhood have tested positive for COVID-19. The team members are quarantining at home for the next 14 days and the residents in our Memory Care neighborhood that have tested positive continue to isolate in their rooms with periodic checks from our team members to monitor for symptoms. Contact tracing has begun and residents will again be tested in 3-5 days. Team members will be tested again on September 10, 2021.

As a result of the recent COVID-19 exposure, visitation to the Memory Care neighborhood cannot restart until 14 days from today. Communal dining and activities will be limited during this time. Virtual visits will be permitted and encouraged.

All team members will continue to follow guidelines from the Virginia Department of Health and CMS relative to safety procedures including the use of proper protective equipment.

Visitation will continue for all other levels of care: independent living, healthcare, and assisted living. The Chesapeake’s team urges all residents and team members to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, social distancing, and proper hand hygiene.
